How to arrive to the venue:
The workshop will take place in the conference room called “Cesarska” at Diament Arsenal Palace Katowice/Chorzów****.
The hotel is strategically situated on the border of Katowice and Chorzów, nestled right next to the scenic Silesian Park, home to the newly renovated Silesian Stadium. Conveniently, Katowice Airport is just a 30-minute drive away, and the bustling city centre of Katowice can be reached in a mere 10 minutes, ensuring easy access for all travellers!
How to arrive to Katowice
The easiest way to get to Katowice is to fly directly to Katowice Airport im. Wojciecha Korfantego (KTW), which offers several international flights, among others to and from Iceland, Norway, Denmark, Great Britain, Ireland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Moldavia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Montenegro, Albania, Greece, Italy, Malta, Spain, Georgia, Cyprus, Morocco, UAE.
How to continue your trip from Katowice Airport to the venue:
Taxi: The most convenient option. Taxis are available outside the airport terminal. The ride to the hotel should take about 25-30 minutes (depending on traffic) and should cost around 120-150 pln. Services like Uber or Bolt are also available at Katowice Airport. You can book a ride through their apps. Cost around 100-120 pln.
By Bus: You can take PKM Katowice bus nr 159 from Katowice Airport to Katowice Train station (Dworzec PKP), then change for the bus nr 44 to get to Chorzow. The total travel time is around 40-50 minutes and costs about 6-10 PLN.
What if you do not have a direct flight to Katowice:
Option 1 : Krakow
If you don’t have a direct flight to Katowice, you can try to find a plane to carry you to John Paul II Krakow – Balice International Airport (KRK), which is only about 1 hour drive from Katowice on the A4 motorway. With numerous flight connections, it serves as a convenient entry point for travellers.
How to continue your trip from Krakow Airport to Katowice:
FlixBus: there are direct buses running from Krakow Airport to Katowice. The journey takes approximately 50 minutes and costs around 30-50 PLN. Buses run frequently throughout the day, with the first bus departing at 00:05 and the last bus at 20:55.
Train: there is no direct train between Krakow Airport and Katowice by public transport. First you have to get to Krakow Centre and after continue your trip to Katowice. Trains run frequently from Krakow Central Station (Krakow Głowna) to Katowice Central Station (Katowice). The journey takes about 60 minutes and costs around 25-40 PLN.
Taxi: A taxi ride takes about 37 minutes and costs between 220-270 PLN.
Option 2: Warsaw
If you do not have possibility to fly neither to Katowice, nor to Krakow, there is still one option: Chopin Warsaw Airport (WAW), which is around 230 km from Katowice. It has numerous flight connections, so probably you will find your way to land there. From the capital you will have several options to continue your trip to Katowice.
How to continue your trip from Warsaw Airport to the venue:
FlixBus: there are direct buses running from Warsaw Chopin Airport to Katowice. The journey takes approximately 5 hours. Buses run several times a day, with the first bus departing at 00:40 and the last bus at 21:35. Cost around 30-90 PLN, depending on the time of booking and availability.
Train: there are no direct train between Warsaw Airport and Katowice by public transport. First you have to get to Warsaw Centre and after continue your trip to Katowice. Trains run frequently from Warsaw Central Station (Warszawa Centralna) to Katowice Central Station (Katowice Główna). The journey takes about 2 hours and 30 minutes, tickets cost between 50-80 PLN.
